  • Dismantling and loading 70-ton reach stacker for export

This project involved the complete dismantling and loading of a 70-ton reach stacker as part of a large, coordinated onsite operation. Multiple teams were involved, including riggers, crane operators, mechanical fitters, and float drivers.

The job commenced with the mechanical strip down of the reach stacker, removing key components such as the boom and any additional attachments to meet road transport height and weight limits. Mechanical fitters managed the disassembly, supported by riggers for lifting and handling.

A crane was mobilised to the site to conduct heavy lifts. The crane crew performed multiple lifts, carefully positioning the dismantled parts and the main frame of the reach stacker onto a low-loader float.

Once loaded, rigging crews secured all parts and the main unit using heavy-duty chains and dogs, ensuring full compliance with current load restraint regulations. A detailed inspection was carried out to confirm the load’s stability and transport readiness.

Throughout the project, strict adherence to onsite safety protocols and communication between all crews ensured efficient and safe completion of works. The size and complexity of the reach stacker, combined with the coordination of multiple teams, classified this as a significant large-scale onsite operation.
