Onsite Repair – Powerscreen Water Pump Replacement

Maude Diesel Service recently attended a site in Lethbridge to carry out repairs on a Powerscreen unit experiencing cooling system issues.
Scope of Works
Upon inspection, the fault was identified as an unserviceable (u/s) water pump requiring removal and replacement.
Due to the configuration of the machine, multiple components had to be removed to gain safe and correct access to the water pump assembly.
Works Carried Out

Removed belt guard
-
Removed lower radiator hose
-
Removed fan shroud
-
Removed fan hub and cooling fan assembly
-
Gained access to all water pump retaining bolts
-
Removed failed water pump
-
Cleaned all gasket and contact surfaces thoroughly
-
Installed new water pump and secured bolts to specification
-
Reinstalled fan hub, fan, and shroud assembly
-
Re-fitted lower radiator hose
-
Refilled cooling system with coolant
-
Started and tested machine
-
Checked for leaks and correct cooling system operation
The machine was brought up to operating temperature and monitored to ensure correct performance. All tests were completed successfully with no leaks detected.
Following successful testing, the unit was placed back into service, and we returned back to the workshop.
